About Alex & ApexStudios
I was born and raised in New Brunswick, Canada, between the picturesque Bay of Fundy and the beautiful province of Québec, which always fuelled my inspiration. Thanks to that, I am fully bilingual and available to work in French and English.
I am currently based out of Saint John, New Brunswick – a stone’s throw away from beautiful beaches and an abundance of trails, nature preserves, and conservation parks that provide a wide variety of interesting subjects. I enjoy shooting macro subjects, which on some level ties into my portrait work for clients. Balancing natural light with artificial lighting is very similar. In both cases and important for bringing each individual’s vision to life. Alternatively, my wildlife and sports photography is fast-paced, forcing me to get creative with the light available, whether it’s a poorly-lit arena, a bird in flight on an overcast day, or a landscape after the sun has set below the horizon.
I have been capturing the world around me for over twenty years through the lens of my cameras. Photography has always been my creative outlet – a great way to communicate feelings and to clear my mind. In the past I have been fortunate enough to shoot for international sporting events, corporate events, sports teams, academic institutions, modelling and portrait sessions, individual headshots, and product photography.
I believe that great photography is captured, not created. I love capturing memorable moment for my clients, and freeze their raw emotions in time.

I believe in sharing knowledge, supporting others, and growing together as a creative community. For all pet sessions, I will donate to an animal rescue organization; as a pet owner of two rescue animals, I truly appreciate their work in the community.
